February 2018 - Music Old and New

NOTE: Because the 7 pm concert at the Atheneum on Feb 16th is SOLD OUT, we will repeat the 50 min program at 8:30 pm on the 16th at the First Unitarian Church, One Benevolent Street. Tickets only at the door, cash or check. $25 General - $8 Students/Starving artists. This program is supported by a grant from the Brown Arts Initiative.

Schola expands to 16 voices for Bach’s memorable double-choir motet, Komm, Jesu Komm; 8 part music of Byrd and Monte; and features the New England premiere of a new work by Eric Nathan for 16 solo voices based on texts in the Providence Athenaeum card catalog- “How Small a Part of Time". Megan Henderson’s “Super flumina” and Adam Simon‘s “Nunc dimmittis “ round out the program .
